The consultant tried to refer me to a birth choices clinic and I declined because I felt like it was their last attempt at trying to get me to change my mind and it’s so wrong. I’ve chosen a c-section because it’s what’s always felt right for me and my mental health. I’ve done lots of research in to a vaginal and c-section birth and still feel it’s right for me so I would say stand by what you feel is right for you and your baby and don’t let anyone make you feel bad for your choice. It’s so wrong that medical professionals make women feel this way. I don’t know your reasons for choosing a c-section, but I don’t understand why they don’t seem to deem mental health a good enough reason in comparison to a physical reason for having one because it can be just as detrimental. If you don’t already, follow c-section uk on Instagram they are filled with positive stories and tips for a positive birth and recovery 😊
I had a section with mynfirst and choosing one again. A planned section is soo calm and quick. The actual delivery is amazing. The first 3 to 4 days are painful, but I kept on top of my medication and it was manageable. My advice is make sure you take the painkillers when they are due, do not wait until you are in pain. Buy high knickers. The scar is really low (at least for me) so high knickers were the best. I went out of the house for a short walk after a week so I recovered really well. Feel free to DM me with any questions you have
I had an elective last Friday and it was such a beautiful experience that it makes me sad I didn't have it for my first. It was so relaxed, the theatre staff asked if we wanted music and used their Spotify to play for us. They were singing along and it was so relaxed 💙 I was discharged at 25 hours and the pain has been nothing compared to what I expected, just took ibuprofen which I have now stopped (day 7). Already been out and about to visit family and going for walks
Firstly it's wrong she made you feel like that, it shouldn't even be questioned when you request it. I know they need to tell you the risks but not so you feel worried or scared. I.had an appointment other day and the lady next to me had elective 3mths ago and said how different and calm/relaxing and how organised it was compared to her first emergency section. She said recovery was ok, she stayed in 2 nights as she just wanted the extra night incase any issues with the wound. You can pick a playlist if you want to listen to whilst they do the section. I was a little nervous as my last was emergency section but after talking to her i feel much better and relaxed about it.
