What would you do?

I've sought support for a few things from my Health Visitor (UK) - potty training, poo withholding, meltdowns etc (lo is 3.5yo) and basically had a couple of visits where all the usual stuff was regurgitated at me... ERIC website, parenting government websites which I've read and been trying for some time. She basically said even with diagnosis there is little support. I suspect she just thinks I'm a crap parent with no boundaries and she mentioned my anxiety was probably part of our problem. Our days are hard and my MH is suffering I admit. That said I feel a bit gas lit and patronised to be honest. She's asked if we want another visit and I'm not sure how to respond... he wears pants now but otherwise things aren't better.

You could ask for a different health visitor if you wanted to and just say that you don’t feel like you are getting the necessary info or support from her

That's all health visitors do tbh. They're mostly just to signpost you to information or other professionals. They don't do all that much outside of the development checklists which they feed into a spreadsheet which spits out an 'answer'. I'd go to your GP if there's something wrong. The toddler years are tough!

I agree with Caroline above. I’m regards to the poo withholding, this is an issue we currently have which we think stemmed from previous constipation issues which LO then associated pooping with pain and now withholds. We have been using lactulose, to get constipation sorted and this helps her go without pain. We plan on stop using it once she no longer fears pooping. This is what the gp recommended for us. I hope this helps
