Tips to Help Settle into Nursery

My little boy goes to nursery twice a week for 7:30am until 14:00pm , he started nursery over a month ago and still hasn’t settled in, crying when I drop him off and crying when I pick him up.He is very emotional and wants cuddles and book reading for him etc, not really moving around to play until snack time which is 9:30am. Does anyone experience the same still? Any advice please?

Honestly mine didn't settle in properly until we upped him to 3 full days. Maybe it will take a little longer as its only been 8 times ish? Does he have a comfort item he can take with him? We also found that acting excited helped. Mine wouldn't leave their knees to play at all for ages and wouldn't eat there for a month. Once he got comfortable it was better immediately and he loves it now

I hope that would be the case for us too… it is so difficult to leave him there, I always acting happy and talk with him about nursery at home etc… yes he takes his comfort item with him :)

Ahhh I’ve had a very similar situation recently! My son goes 2 days and it has taken him a while to actually enjoy it! He started the end of September and only now they are telling me he’s really enjoying/ settling in! I think if they aren’t full time/ doing full days it does take them longer! Honestly I thought he would never settle and he would always hate it but now he actually enjoys it! Trust me he will get there- i know this stage is hard when he seems unhappy but keeping on sticking with it is the best thing 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

drop/ pick ups are still hard for us and he still cries.. but they tell me as soon as I go he is absolutely fine! :) and I can see he is getting better and better each time. It will happen for your little boy too it just takes a while as he isn’t going every day xxx
