High bmi in pregnancy

I have a bmi of 40 and have been put as ‘high risk’. I was wondering if anyone who else has been in this position gave birth naturally, planned or unplanned c section or was induced. Been trying to google but just end up getting more over whelmed by the whole thing! 😫

Oh gosh please don’t panic! Just becuase you have a high bmi doesn’t mean you will have any complications. Most women with high bmis have straight forward pregnancy and birth! So with my first baby o had a bmi of 40 I was around 17st when I fell pregnant. I too was classed as high risk due to bmi but had a very straight forward pregnancy no complications at all no high blood pressure or diabetes. Went into labour naturally although did end up with a csection as o just didn’t progress past 5 cm and babies heart bear started to drop but she was born completely healthy and 9lb 7!’ Baby number 2 my bmi was 45! I was about 20st when I fell pregnant again straight forward pregnancy no complications no high blood pressure Or diabetes. Went into labour naturally and had a natural Birth with only gas & air already 9cm When I arrived at the hospital! Although not ideal to have a high a high bmi it doesn’t mean you will have any complications at all doesn’t put you any more at risk

Than a woman with a health bmi! I wasn’t treated any differently and my weight was never mentioned! One Benefit was I got extra growth scans due to high bmi so you get to see baby more! X

I also dont think high bmi can cause any complications but id still keep an eye out for high blood pressure (preeclampsia), my bmi was 34 at the stsrt of both my pregnancies, had an emergency c section due to preeclampsia at 34 weeks with my first, with my second my preeclampsia really developed during labour so they gave me the epidural to drop my BP and i gave birth naturally no other complications. So id defo keep an eye on you bp and preeclampsia symptoms but then again not all women are affected by this with a high bmi
