Induction questions šŸ¤žšŸ¼šŸ©·

I know each hospital will be different, but if anyone can share their experiences or help me with these questions please: ā€¢ After your admission time how long do you usually wait before the first ā€˜treatmentā€™ is given? ā€¢ Is your birth partner allowed to stay with you or is it visiting hours only or are there cases when youā€™re not allowed visitors at all until itā€™s your birth partner coming back to the hospital when youā€™re in active labour? ā€¢ How many extra clothes do you pack in your normal hospital bag? Iā€™ve got my head around induction now and accepted I may need to be open to having more pain relief than I originally wanted. Mentally I think itā€™s helped me to focus on Iā€™ll be going into hospital and definitely leaving with my baby!!

Hi i went in 4 weeks ago today for induction, we got here about 1:30, had My Obs Done & Was on the monitor for a good hour, around 5ish I had the 1st 24 hour pessarie was checked in 24 hours and hadnā€™t done much so had the next 6 hour one and it worked with 2 hours my plug went and then my waters .. I am Gloucestershire based and partners are now allowed to stay 24/7. Regarding clothes I took A suitcase for us all baby me and dad, I took 2 pairs of pyjamas and a nightie x

I had an induction last week. My birth partner was able to stay the whole time on the chair next to me. I got there at 9am, they monitored baby at 11am and I had the pessary at 1pm that same day. I packed enough clothes to stay for five days.

They will monitor you for an hour first and do a check to see if you are already dilated. My first I wasnā€™t and have the 24 hour pessary then the 6 hour one. I then had waters broken and they hook you up to the drip. It will then be a while until you get ready to push but you will be in the delivery suite. Also depends how busy the hospital is for how long you wait for a room. My first the whole process took a few days my 2nd less than 24 hours. Partner allowed to stay but on the horrible chairs so pack him a pillow! You could send him home during the first 24 hour one so heā€™s well rested to help you and baby. I overpack just incase your in a while so I packed for a week and used most the stuff both times x

Hello! I went in around 9pm, and at 3:45 I had the first pessary. My fiancĆ© stayed with me every second (I was there 6 days but mine did end in a c-section) My fiancĆ© went and brought me more PJā€™s from Tescos whilst I was there as two pairs werenā€™t enough!

I went in at 11am on the Thursday, had monitoring then the first gel, by 6pm I was ready to have my waters broken but ended up waiting until Saturday morning for a room to be free in delivery suite.
