Jobs

Curious to know what everyone’s jobs were before having a baby/maternity leave? I worked in childcare but i think i’m over it. I was looking at nursing but honestly don’t know if i’ll be able to afford thousands of dollars for a course. Also don’t think i’m smart enough to do a nursing course. Looking at what other people do and see what options there are? Thank you xxx

Community services for non-profit for 7 years and after baby left (returned for a few months) and returned to a public service role that allows me to work from home and has better maternity leave for if I have another child.

Also Childcare 🙋‍♀️ also over it 😄 so many more behaviours and challenges now than there was when I started, considering leaving the industry altogether, having a break and seeing if something pops up🤷‍♀️

I did 2 years of nursing through uni and pulled out as it wasn’t for me. Honestly if you want to give it a go, start with TAFE for AIN, then you can step up to an EN, and eventually go to uni for RN if you want to

I worked veterinary field

I worked for RACQ work from home in Insurance & Roadside assistance. Equivalent of your RACV.

I worked as a pastry chef, but after having kids the hours just don't work for me. Not sure what else I'd do. Would love a job where I could work from home

I’m an automotive spray painter by trade. I now paint farming and construction machinery.

@Jacinta girlie I notices you're in Brisbane? See if Happy Home Chef has any work going. Family friendly hours as a private meal prep chef

I'm the CEO of a medium size business and I've held that role for 6.5 years, my sons nearly 2. I've been working two days since he was 5 months old and I'll do 3 days next year. (I also work during his naps)

Was working as a Manufacturing Technician for 8 years

Operated dump trucks and ran a business from home as a qualified pastry chef :)

Pharmaceutical quality assurance

I worked on a farm. I really wanted to start my own micro farm but I’ve been so indecisive. I always have been but factoring a child into my dreams and goals make me want something with more normal working hours and security in the long-run. I studied massage therapy and never did it professionally, so I’ve thought about finally pursuing that. I’ve also done very little childcare at Montessori outdoor school but I don’t think I would do it for my own sanity. Even if I am good at it. Most of my experience is in the service industry but I can’t go back to that

I worked in childcare and i did not go back😂

@Georgia will check it out. Thanks 🙂

Nursing is worse than childcare tbh. Unless you're in an old peoples home.

But, anyway, I'm a lawyer
