did my water just break?

i was doing laundry and i felt leaking down my leg and this was in the crotch area… i smelled it and it’s not pee smelling. my husband said it would be a big gush but i know sometimes it can trickle down… should i just wait to see if i start contracting? we live an hour away from my hospital

Did you feel that you wanted to go pee before that leaking ?

If not I would go since you leave kinda far from the hospital but that’s just me

@Jessica no i didn’t feel an urge to pee, i didn’t sneeze or cough or do anything to ‘accidentally pee’ not sure i don’t wanna drive an hour for nothing 😭

If you lie down for a little bit and you feel a gush again when you stand up it's a pretty good indication that it's your water. But most people who have their waters break don't experience the large gush, a lot of times it's smaller and is just a trickle for awhile.

Wait a bit then, if it’s your water it will continue to leak

Have you been feeling consistent contractions? I would definitely at least call your OB and ask what she thinks, but I'm fairly certain she'll tell you to stay put until you have contractions that are 5 minutes apart and last about 45 seconds to a minute. If you ARE in labor, I hope it goes so smoothly and both you and baby are healthy!

@Jessica it’s definitely my water it’s a constant leak

@Kaylynn i’m going in now cause it’s been leaking constantly, should i have waited for the contractions?

Nice! You are in labor! 🥰 hope you have a smooth birth! Let us now when you have a chance! 🙏🏼

Not necessarily! I'm not entirely sure how it works, but I'm pretty sure when your water breaks, you're considered active labor. Good luck!! I can't wait to hear an update!

Don't wait for contractions, your water can break without you being in labor. But if your water breaks and you don't go into labor it can increase your chances of infection, and also losing fluid can be bad for your baby if they're in there without enough fluid for awhile. If your water breaks and you don't go into labor, they may induce you.

Sounds like your waters broke if it’s clear and trickles continuously. My waters was a trickle and not a gust like you see in movies. The dr swabbed and confirmed it was my waters

Is this your first baby? I live an hour away and I’m waiting until my contractions are around 5 minutes apart lasting 1 minute for at least 1 hour before going. No need to labor at the hospital for hours upon hours!!! 😌

@Mckenna it’s my second baby! and i also live an hour away, i was this diagram that said if u love an hour away u should leave when there 10 min apart, but leave when u feel it’s best if would be scared to wait to long haha

Heyyy was it your water any update but i honestly have been having a lot of discharge I’m waiting for the gush of my water breaking lol which i experienced twice
