I was NOT prepared

For the constant whinging and crying over the things that only makes sense to a toddler to cry about, it is frustrating my oh my. Hats off to all the toddler mums, nothing is easy about this stage, it’s pure joy to see their personalities shining through, but if you ask me, personally this has been the hardest stage of motherhood.

I have a 9 year old and an almost 18month old. Omg I honestly forgot how draining these tantrums are...I agree with you this is by far the hardest stage yet loving seeing her character develop.

Yep I’m out of toddlerhood now but I have a threeanger now and it’s just as bad especially when my little horror is tired and coming down with a cold and is a sneezing mess x

I love that I can now have a conversation with my little boy, but when he's whinging for no apparent reason, oh my god 😬

@Rachel yep it’s the whinging I can’t deal with it’s constant

@Siobhan I can understand if they aren't feeling very well or are in pain, but it's when they are whining, but won't tell you why, even though they can talk well & could quite easily tell you what the problem is. That's when it becomes annoying & it is so difficult not to just tell them to be quiet 😮‍💨

@Rachel unfortunately my son has a speech delay and is having therapy so it’s not as easy for him which is half the problem but it’s still so frustrating x

@Siobhan Aww, well, at least he has a reason for it, though. It must be incredibly frustrating for him to know what he wants or needs but not to be able to communicate it to anyone x

He does sign language so most of the time he knows how to tell us he is hungry,tired or he wants more food or water we haven’t taught him he has picked it all up from mr tumble

@Siobhan that is brilliant. My little boy picked up the sign for milk, please & thank you from Ms Rachel, but that was about it ☺️

@Rachel we have been told to use mr tumble as it’s makaton and more common than miss Rachel uses American Sign Language xx

@Siobhan yeah I know, that's the problem. We are British & my little boy learned from Ms Rachel. He was never really interested in Mr Tumble, only all the American shows like Ms Rachel & Blippi 🤦🏼‍♀️

I watched a video that said to a toddler, not being able to have the food they want or something else that seems really small is as emotionally huge for them as us losing all our life savings 😂. They feel the intensity of emotions we can but don't understand them or how to deal with them. I try and remember that as best I can! 😄

Mine had a tantrum because when I asked him what he wanted to eat he said he wanted to eat Purple I tried to explain we can eat purple coloured food but cannot eat the colour purple He went nuts and then ran off (we were at his nanas) and ran straight into a wall Honestly it was hilarious (but also not hilarious ) but also hilarious They are a whole new level of crazy!

@Kate 😂😂😂 aren’t they wonderful
