Intimacy

Hi ladies, First time speaking up about this, I’m hoping someone will relate 🙏 Since having my little one, my sex drive has gone down the pan. I don’t find certain positions comfortable anymore (at least for now) such as from behind and in all honesty, I’d rather just skip past sex all together. I’m generally well within myself (I think) and I absolutely love being a new mum, but since birth (a traumatic one at that) my body image and confidence has been hugely affected that I’d rather just hide my body away. My belly still looks pregnant from what may be water retention and so, I’m having a hard time seeing my belly everyday. I feel sad for showing myself very little kindness and compassion but I can’t seem to move past it. Apart from that, I absolutely love being a mum and feel guilty for complaining about my image. Does anyone else have very little drive? Thanks for listening mamas xx

Zero sex drive but I also think years of TTC timed sex (the worst) has killed the drive as much as having a baby in the bed/room. Thankfully hubby never moans or pressures. Although I can’t even have a cuddle in bed without him getting “excited” but as long as you’re both OK in yourselves and as a couple then that’s all that matter. As for the body - you grew a healthy happy human. Don’t be so harsh on yourself x

My sex drive is honestly below rock bottom. Tbf this generally the case was before baby but wasn’t as bad. Now like you, I’d rather just skip past sex. I know things like breastfeeding can also suppress those hormones. It takes time to come to terms with the way our body’s have changed and to accept them as they are. It also doesn’t help when we see other people and it isn’t that way for them. Like you said, you are generally well in yourself and you love being a mum so I’d say you are winning! The being comfortable in your body may come with time and the sex drive may improve once your hormones settle.

Thanks ladies. Thank you for making me feel less alone with this :) x
