If the pain is excrutiating i'd go to hospital. I had lower back pain when i went into labour.
When my water broke it woke me up, I tried to go back to sleep but 10-20 mins later the contractions started and my water didn’t stop leaking sooo if it keeps going on and pains happen I’d so go to the hospital it’s time
What does the liquid smell like and what colour is it? Waters have quite a sweet, not unpleasant smell. The liquid will also keep coming. If it is wee, well… it smells like wee and will stop.
I’m going to stay with your post to talk you through if need be but i had my waters break before going into labour (so no pains).
Any gush of water like that is a immediate call to your doctor or hospital. It sounds like the time is coming 🥹🤎🫶🏼 I hope everything goes well for baby and you momma 🫶🏼✨ sometimes people water break and its no pain following at all but definitely call the doctor like immediately
@Emma it has no smell and it’s slightly pink when i wipe
@Monique it’s nkt excruciating it’s just really uncomfortable
@maddison definitely reach out to your hospital/OB if you haven’t already xx
@Emma thankyou i will
How far along were you all when your water broke and then had the baby?
@maddison my cheeky guy “kicked the plug out of his swimming pool” and decided to not actually start coming for a couple of days. Nothing to panic about but getting things checked out is the best plan of action right now xx
@Emma i’m going to ring my midwife in the morning
@maddison I know it’s the middle of the night for you but I would suggest calling now, if it is your waters and you’re not in labour there are some checks that they’ll want to do sooner rather than later (I’m just working off my own experience and what happened for me here in Australia).
@maddison i would call. Mine started out uncomfortable and then got bad. Its how my grandmother knew i was in labour. Sooner you get checked out the better because back labour sucks

@Emma how far along were you ?
@Tamesha 35+6 was when my waters broke. Bub was born at 36+2 with a very short labour.
i’ve put a pad on and i can still feel slight gushes of water coming out and i still have back ache, baby is active rn and moving a lot @Monique @Emma
Call the maternity assessment unit 😊
When my waters went I felt a distinctive 'pop' and they gushed out. I was lieing in bed. Stood up and it continued. I then instantly had major back pain that the only relief was bending over something. Getting in the car was interesting as just couldn't move much. Once they go you should get checked out within 24hours.
@maddison it sounds like things might be moving, especially with the little bit of pink when you wipe. Have you been able to reach out to your midwife? She’ll be able to advise if you’re OK to snuggle back up into bed or get checked out. Please keep us updated when you can xx
@Emma my midewifes are not open right night so it would have to be the maternity unit i call, i’m currently sat in bed waiting to wake my mum up
@maddison call the maternity unit sweetheart and then your mum. No one will mind you calling right now xx
@Emma i’ve just told my mum and she’s going to ring the triage for me
@maddison great job! Good luck 🤞 it’s only 2pm here so will keep an eye out for any updates. Thing of you xx
@Emma thankyou
My contractions started 8 hours after my waters broke. It was definitely my waters so I went to triage and then had to stay for antibiotics due to being early. Definitely get yourself to triage and get checked out.
so ladies it was my waters and i am in latent labour
@Emma IM IN LABOUR 😆😆
@maddison good luck!

Omg so excited Good luck on everything ✨👏🏼 go mamaa you got this !!!
Yay, good luck. If they offer gas i reccomend it. It helped with my labour tremendously
@maddison I thought you might have been 😉 good luck mumma! You’ve got this! Enjoy the ride and your little one 💕
When your water breaks it doesn’t stop so you will be wet. And back labor is a thing. I would definitely call your delivery hospital ( maternity ward). They will guide you on the next step. Congrats mama :)
