Universal credit

Hi I’m not sure if I read it wrong on the www.gov.uk website- but is one eligible for help with childcare if on universal credit and NOT working? Thank you.

I don’t think so, it’s not listed as one of the eligible benefits. Might be worth speaking to citizens advice though x

Yes you get 15 free hours for none working parents the term after they turn 2 x

Once they turn to you get 15 hours from the government and then if you work less than 16 hours they pay up to 84% xxx

You have to be working to get the 85% childcare reimbursement. But you can claim 15 hours if your not working under these requirements 2 years old: Parents who receive income support benefits, such as Universal Credit, and earn less than £15,400 a year may be eligible for 15 hours of funded childcare per week.
