Nursery.. does it get better?! 😭🥲

My boy started yesterday and today was his second settling session. He cried when we left and did not engage in playing at all. When we picked him up we could see his dried teardrops so can tell he cried a lot😞

It was within a week of him startng full days. Think having more time there really allowed him to settle x
It was so bad at first that honestly I thought at the end of day three we’d have to rethink everything and then it suddenly clicked and by the second week he was giggling with excitement when he saw his key worker and he basically hasn’t cried since. He trusts her totally cos she comforted and held him when he cried at first and I’m sure that was part of the bond building process even though it hurt a lot to see it at the start. My little girl would cry so much she'd puke because she was getting so worked up and would kick off and scream at just the sight of the nursery building at one point.. she started September 9th and last week she went in with no tears and gave me a kiss and said bye.. something just clicked one day and now she tells me she loves nursery and gets excited.. it definitely gets better xx
When my LO had his settle day, he cried the moment we left and stopped after a little while he had separation anxiety, so it was hard for him mentally emotionally every day after his settle day when dropping off he cry when pick up crying but then it stopped abd instead he was crying because we came to take him home 🤣 it does get better it just takes time and tge bond your LO will make with the staff will amaze you

My LO had some AWFUL settle sessions - he cried for almost all of them and one of the early ones he was practically hyperventilating when we came to get him. However, he now absolutely loves it and has the best time there. X
