When should partner stay in / not drink?

If you have a partner, at how many weeks are you going to ask them not to go out in case you need them to take you to hospital? My husband has a boys night this Friday and it’s long overdue and I want him to go and have fun, I’ll be 37 weeks. Do you think we can risk that? I wouldn’t be able to just jump in an ambulance as have a toddler too. Thoughts? Xx

I think it depends on the boys night, maybe he can compromise and plan to do it in moderation? Stick to local pubs and only have a couple of drinks and aim to have a specific time to be home? Just make sure he’s within half an hour of the house if possible? That’s what I’ve done with my partner recently who was invited out to a house party, just made sure he stayed close to home and I knew exactly when he was going to be back- phone on loud permanently If you trust him and his mates and can communicate about some new boundaries seeing as baby is so close maybe that will work? But at this stage or pregnancy especially with a toddler your comfort is key

Me and my partner have agreed 35 weeks no drinking although he barely drinks anyway so 😂 his Christmas do is a week before I’m due, he’s going but just going for the meal as it’s like 45 minutes away and phone on loud! Xx

My husband doesn't drink but if he did, I think I'd say from around 36 weeks. In terms of going out, he's likely to still be going to work up until I'm 38 weeks, which is sometimes up to 1hr20 away. It does make me nervous but not much I can do!

I think as long as I wasn't in labour when he left I'd be fine with it, it's generally a long enough process you wouldn't need to immediately rush to the hospital. But I would also ask him not to drink so much he was drunk for 12 hours or more 😂

My partner would probably stay home from 38 weeks, I'm guessing, but if he did go out from 36 weeks onwards, I doubt he'd drink very much and would have his phone on vibrate! 😄

I've had to force my husband out of the house a few times since I found out I was pregnant and he's only begrudgingly agreed to go as far as his local magic the gathering game and I've still technically got 6 weeks to go. Fairly certain he would happier being on hand 24/7 but I want him to go out for his own sanity. Fairly certain it's a battle I'm going to lose in the next week or so though

2 weeks before and 2 weeks after m

Well, he's not been drinking since a works do he went on when I was 35 weeks pregnant and he won't be now until after babies here, apart from 10 days before I'm due when he's in another town at a RAVE 😬 got my mum on standby for birthing partner and my son on taxi duty standby to go collect him if anything kicks off ! But tbh I thibk she will be here before thn x

Thanks this is all really good to consider - it would definitely take him too long to get home - I’ll suggest he asked his friends to come to us so they can be local and he will be happy not to drink, he’s the driver and birth partner xx
