Is the skin around it hot to touch? This looks very sore and not right.
The maternity triage in your hospital still cover you for the first 4 weeks, I would give them a ring and ask for their opinion. They may ask you to send pictures or come in and get a paediatrician to take a look. We needed to have LO checked for something when she was about 9 or 10 days old and because we went via triage, we were seen very quickly and put our mind at ease x
That looks painful. Ring the maternity ward and ask to be seen as that look very painful and angry. Is it warm to touch as baby’s tummy looks really red x
Thank you all! 💕💕 I’ll call the hospital to be sure.
I wouldn’t call, I’d take her straight to your maternity triage
Yeah, nothing about this looks normal, I'd take her straight in. I hope she is OK. Also, her entire tummy and both legs seem very red. Is there a reason for that or?
@Hannah she cried a lot, her skin color turns to red when she cries
Did you go to the hospital? X
My son’s did the same thing. It turned out to be a hernia but dried up fast
@Hilal, awwww poor bubba.
Do you have a postnatal ward/triage at your hospital where little one was born? I believe you are still allocated time under their care so could ring them and ask if you can take her in to be checked. It looks very sore and painful so could possibly be infected or something else causing it.
@Anisha ♡ they said it’s normal and there is no problem with her umbilical cord. It may seem like this when it’s about to falling off. There is no smell, or discharge so she is healthy.
Thank you all again! I called the triage and they told me that I had to go to A&E and I can’t go to the maternity department at the hospital. Anyway, there is no problem with her umbilical cord, it will fall off very soon
That does not look right to me, I’d def call pediatrician and send some photos
