Had a planned section after a traumatic first..best choice I ever made. Was relaxed and calm and no pain. Recovery was better than after the episiotomy I had with my first. I was up and about 8 hours after the section, stopped taking any painkillers by day 5 and was lifting my toddler by the end of the week.. everyone's recovery will be different of course but it was definitely better second time round :)
I had an emergency c-section as everything went wrong in my labour. It was probably only upsetting to me as I didn't want one and was very set on a natural birth. But as soon as that anesthesia kicked in, it felt like such a relief after being so tired and in so much pain. I felt nothing except a big thump, that didn't hurt, which felt like someone had slammed my back against the op table. I honestly had no clue that was them getting my baby girl out. I didn't even know they'd cut already haha. And even though I was meant to be able to freely move my arms and breathe properly, the anesthesia made my arms weak and I could hardly lift them, it made me feel sick and they got me a sick pot, but I just had my abdomen cut and had no muscles to push sick up so I just dry heaved and choked. And I couldn't take very deep breaths and was struggling to breathe. Someone said that I was given extra anesthetic as my epidural failed. Overall, I was a lot more relaxed. Shaking, sure. But it was relieving.

I had a emergency c section. I would definitely go planned next time you have time to prepare ect. After care definitely keep on top of all the pain killers they give you. Rest as much as possible just walk around the house for a good 3 weeks before you decide to venture out
