Anyone thinking of school nurseries for next year?

I am on the fence about whether to start my little boy in school nursery next year or keep him in his private nursery until he starts reception. I contacted our local primary school in September to ask for a tour of the nursery and they said someone would call me back to arrange this. Since then I have had no contact and have sent a further email with no response. Which tbh isn't giving me a very good impression already. But my little boy is happy and settled in his current nursery at the moment anyway so I don't know whether to just keep him here until he is ready to start reception. I think the main benefit of sending him to school nursery was so he could get used to the school and he would meet other kids who would likely start in the same school. But then the negative is they are less flexible with working hours so drop offs and pick ups might be more difficult. Was just wondering if anyone else has been looking into this? I can't believe how fast the time is going 😩

My little girl hasn’t been to any settings yet so I can’t really give any help with the transition element but I I have registered her for the nursery at the primary school I’m hoping she will attend for reception. She will go next September after she’s turned 3. Having taught nursery and reception myself I think it will be the easiest transition for her (hopefully). Xxx

We are in the same dilemma! I think we might but it off as our nursery is all year round whereas our other option is school term time!!

My little one is with a childminder at the min, and I was looking at sending her to nursery from next year when I qualify for the 30 hours. But. Like you say, the hours are less flexible, and also I'd still need childcare during half terms and holidays so I'd still have to use the childminder, so financially for me, I don't see it working. So I may keep her with the childminder for a bit longer!

Mine is at nursery at the moment but she will be going to pre school at the school she will be going to in September when she turns 3 🙂
