Not suitable for VBAC

Im not suitable for v bac because they did a t section my uterus so next time with second i cant even have contractions/go in to labour as at very high risk of uterine ruputure

@Hollie I’m so confused as to why it states it on my notes - I had a low transverse incision so as far as I was aware it’s the least risk? X

You could ask your gp to go through birth notes im going to ive been meaning for ages but would like to no at what stage i need to wait for next one i know comd say 12-18months but with mine im even worried about getting pregnant again! But strange as you had a low risk procedure there must be a reason as to why xx

Definitely see if there's a birth reflections service at the hospital you gave birth at. There may be a waitlist but they go through the whole process, we decisions were made and what would be good for future births. I asked if I was a good candidate for VBAC and they listed the reasons why i would be...the reason for my section was fluke and unlikely to repeat

I've had 2 previous c sections my 1st was emergency and 2nd planned I was given option for vbac and took it but had a c section booked just incase. I'm due my 3rd in Jan and they said vbac is a option but not advisable I was quite shocked tbh I opted for another c section so I would definitely find out why

A few contributing factors. I was induced and had been labouring for 18 hours. I got to 5cm but the progress slowed around 10 hour mark. They concluded his head wasn't engaging to help further dilate. Various theories here, and they tried to manually move his head thinking it may be stuck. After 18 hours he was getting tired and heartrate had elevated several times. They said he wasn't going to come out that way so had an unplanned csection.

At birth reflections they clarified further and said although his heart rate had been elevated at times it had gone back down, but on the last occasione he wasn't recovering as quickly which indicated he wasn't do so well. They said his head was 79th percentile but most importantly he was brow presentation. There's a 50/50 chance they'll correct position in the first few hours of labour but after that, it isn't happening and unless preemi, they aren't coming out that way. They'll see this presentation 1/4000 so maybe once every 9 months on a ward. Not common and just fluke. Apparently more common if overdue (I was 41w1d), petite and if they've turned late (he flipped at 36w) Luck of the draw!
