Reception admission

I think your child can attend reception the september after they turn 4. But idk if you need to apply 1 year before that? Does anyone else know?

A year before they are due to start. They start the September after they turn 4 so apply when they’re 3. You do this through the local authority. You can get there via: https://www.gov.uk/schools-admissions/how-to-apply

Applications will open September 2025 until January sometime not sure exact date

Unless it’s a private school when it’ll be sooner

Yes they start looking at the applications once the deadline has passed. You find out in April I believe
