C section pain

Hi, I know pain is expected after a c section lol. I am 2 and a half weeks PP and I have started to get a pain in the right side of my abdomen. It feels like a bruised sort of feeling. Hurts when I bend over my stomach and put pressure there. There is a hard lump near this area just above the incision. Has anyone else experienced this? I have been to triage and they weren’t concerned about the hard lump and said it is most likely a hematoma which is blood that will absorb itself after time. Or scar tissue which can be massaged away. I am wondering if this sort of thing would cause this sort of bruised pain when put pressure on? As it’s around that area. I am hoping it’s not a hernia! Please let me know your experiences and whether these hard lumps did disappear on their own / pain went away. Thank you!

Currently 5 weeks post C-section and have exactly what you are describing happening to me. My midwife referred me back to the OB who did the surgery to have it looked at. The ob said it’s normal and she said the hard lumps at either end are where they essentially tied things up inside and not to worry about it. She advised me to start back on Tylenol and Advil for the pain

@Amanda ah thank you! My midwife also said about where they ‘tied the knot’ too! I guess I just worried because I expected this pain to be here from the start not come now! But makes sense it’s all still healing. Did she say the hard lumps were tissue and would eventually break up or need massaging out?

@Claudia yup.. that was my worry too, I had virtually no pain up until 4 weeks post so I genuinely thought I did something wrong 🤦🏼‍♀️ she just said all would get better in time and to keep doing what I have been doing and take the Tylenol and Advil like I did immediately after … however, on my own I have went ahead and booked an appointment to see about the option scar massage!

@Amanda yes! I had the usual achey pain in the first few days/week but I really felt good after that! Now I have this pain I was worried I had done some damage lol. And yeah I think I’m going to look into scar massage as I don’t like the hard lump haha
