Separation anxiety
HELP! Is anyone else’s almost 3 year old going through a patch of separation anxiety?
She has been going to nursery for 2 years now but over the last 2 month (ish) she’s been crying, latching on to me and not wanting to go to.
Her dad and I are also separated and have been for a year or so & she’s the same going to his and will scream and cry not to go (again for the last couple of month)
It’s really heartbreaking for both of us & not sure if this is normal stage or if she is struggling a little bit

She has one day with my mum which she is fine with me leaving her. She’s also fine if I leave the house and she’s staying home with dad. It’s just nursery for us but then comes out saying how much she loves nursery and even asks to go back!
My daughter has been like this but at bedtimes and in the night. Crying when we go to leave as she doesn't want us to. We seem to have turned a corner now but it was a hard phase. I think it's just developmental, hopefully it'll pass by quickly for you x

Yes my little one is the same. Started nursery 2 days per week the week after she turned one and never cried going in until a few weeks ago. She screams and clings onto me. She cries when dad drops her off at nursery but not to the same extent as when it’s me dropping her off x
