I am going through severe hair loss. I'm pretty much wearing turban all the time now. While hairloss postnatal is normal it doesn't hurt to go to GP for some checks. I had some bloodtests and GP consulted Dermatologist (yes they deal with this issue too). They requested further tests of hormones. Everything came back fine so I have to wait till after baby is one of no improvement got back to GP. The main thing you can do is focus on regrowth and retention using things like minoxidil spray, alpecin coffee shampoo , castor oil (i buy from tesco food of the world section), reducing washing and brushing and any chemical treatments and even try to dry naturally (cut heat tools). Keep a simpler routine i.e. shampoo, moisturise and leave in ( no sprays and other styling products). I also take biotin (boots brand) and collagen (Sunna brand as I can't have pork gelatin). Isn't my first rodeo, it's my third time, it got worse with each child. I also went in for a deep conditioning treatment at my hairdressers.
Definitely try a satin bonnet for at night and wearing hair in Dutch braids during the day to prevent extra tugging etc But otherwise it's just the shitty pp period 😂😂
Also don't tie hair back, use satin or silk pillow cases/bonnet, avoid hair rubbing on materials such as clothing that are rough or textured.
I use a caffeine shampoo that has been helping x
Thankyou so much everyone I will be trying lots of your recommendations for sure ! 🤞🏽🫶🏽
I know the feeling, didn't have it with my first but this time round, omg 🤯 I'm loosing loads. It will stop eventually
