Appendicitis

Four months post emergency c section and have been unwell/ in pain since Friday night. Partner pointed out my symptoms line up with an appendicitis, ringing 111 in the morning if still in pain, but has anyone had the surgery for it so close to birth? Definitely will have some PTSD to deal with if it’s what I have.

If you possibly have appendicitis, you should go get checked now, please don't wait. I definitely understand the fear and ptsd from surgeries, I have it too, but appendicitis can go from stable to life-threatening VERY fast (I'm an ER clerk). I had appendicitis that progressed very quickly, I went to the ER and was in surgery less than 24 hours later and it was ready to burst when they got it.

Definitely get checked it could even be your gallbladder Pregnancies are hard on us !

If you think appendicitis please call straight away you shouldn't wait!

I was suffering two weeks of pain and MAU could not identify the problem on both occasions. Ended up severe pain and vomiting with fever and shakes, called emergency and spent whole day doing a number of tests. It was a ruptured appendix at 26 weeks pregnant! I was scared but they operated to remove and chances of it spread that they would have to operate to get baby out, thankfully baby is growing and I’m 36 weeks now :) no pain but yes I have horrible flashbacks. Just thankful all went well. Msg me if you need x

Thank you everyone. Ended up ringing not long after posting. 3:30am arrived at the hospital and by 6:30pm had my appendix removed. Nurses let me cry and got me in straight away to get back to baby as soon as possible. Hoping tomorrow is home time because they kept me in for 2 night for c section and I vowed I’d never stay anywhere close to 99 hours I did in this hospital ever again.

I'm glad you're doing okay and got seen. Hopefully you're released tomorrow, when I had mine out I was discharged about 12 hours after surgery.
