I just shaved my head and it's the best decision I've ever made. 1. I had always wanted to try it 2. I was pulling out unexpected handfuls of hair, and it was getting everywhere 3. The bathtub would no longer drain 😬
I got mine cut to my shoulders the day before and I'm so happy I did! I had a c section and felt really poorly for a few weeks and was happy to not have to keep up on my hair. And then about 3 months ppd I started shedding soooo much. I might chop it again until I stop losing hair.
Being able to put it up in a ponytail is a must for me. Baby pulling hair hurts so much 😭
Long is great for getting it away from baby. A pony or braid is very low maintenance.
I cut my hair and regretted it
One of my best friends got a bob right before she had her baby and I always remember how much she said she regretted. Could barely put it up and then while on mat leave it was growing up and it annoyed her the whole time. I’d say as long as you can keep it out of your face and in a pony/bun, go for it! Otherwise, don’t do it haha
I just cut my hair after growing it out the longest it's been in over a decade. Partially so that baby has less to grab onto, but also I let it grow out because it was super thick from hormones but now it was brittle and dead at the ends
I wanted the mom chop because I didn’t want to deal with the baby pulling my hair. But, hubby wanted me to keep it long as it’s beautiful and to leave it alone. So, I’m like ugh.. I probably will regret it though as I do this all the time. I want to go short because it makes my head feel a lot light.
mines past my bum at this point and it’s not to bad i just tie it up😂 it’s annoying when my toddler leans on it in bed and i can feel myself being scalped but there’s ways around it
Nope. Never had a mum chop. Tiffany’s been making alot of hair polls lately and you’ll be surprised how many mums have waist length/butt length hair. My hair is at my waist I do a 2in trim every couple months but that’s about it I’m not chopping anything I LOVE my long hair
I had mine short before baby came. But it's 100% up to you. I would wear it up bc it grew longer quick and I didn't feel like cutting it again 😂
Yes I love my hair short. Asymmetrical hair style is my fav. Third time cutting it probably will keep it like this now. My son is 5 months and I love it. Easy to style too.
This is why the mom bun was invented. Long hair is my thing. My son was obsessed with it and would reach for it for comfort. He's 7 and still occasionally does. Personally, I don't think it makes a difference and there's always dry shampoo for the days you don't make it to the shower! Saying that I have low management hair 2 washes a week is fine!
I’ve always had long hair and it was never an issue, as others say, I would put it in a bun sometimes.

I just keep mine long enough to tie up but still looks nice down if I'm making more effort. My hair is around shoulder length
I did!! I miss my long hair, but shorter hair on me is safer for baby and less maintenance is needed, as I remember how the newborn stage was with my hair long
I’m not cutting my hair just because I have babies. If I cut it, it will be because I want to cut it short. My hair is bum length and very high maintenance. I just put it up in a bun when I need it out of the way.
Don’t cut it yet .. you’ll get postpartum hair loss at around 3-6 months so you’ll feel the need for a drastic change when you’re balding like me 😫
if you want your hair short, go for it! if you like it long, it isn't hard to deal with once the baby is born imo
I cut mine from long to just below my shoulders as soon as my son got to his hair grabbing stage. I always have to have my hair up, especially since I’m losing so much hair anyway (yay post partum hair loss 😂) so can’t really afford to have him pulling it out all the time. So I didn’t see the point in having more hair to maintain, it was easier to just cut it short.
My hair has been short (pixie cut) for the last decade. It's super low maintenance. I hate having greasy hair and I can only imagine how uncomfortable that would feel to have ling greasy hair in my face when you inevitably skip showers during the newborn phase 😪
