Adult nappies! Big knickers! shower gel - I had a shower as soon as I could stand up and had my catheter out. Made me feel a lot better. Towel. I found nighties easier after my c section. Make sure you have pjs that go over your scar so they don’t rub on it. The midwives on the ward helped me straight after. I labelled everything in my bag so it was easier for them to find everything when I couldn’t get up etc. They said they found that extremely helpful.
Loose comfortable clothing and comfortable slippers. My feet swelled up really really bad and nothing fit me so I sized up. Get something that’ll go over the compression socks.
Some kind of flipflop for showering, slippers for walking around the room, loose/comfy pj's that won't irritate your incision site. I also brought my own pull up style pads for bleeding since I knew the hospital supplied pads/mesh undies would annoy me lol those were a life saver.
Make sure you pack more than I did in regards to spare pjs and knickers🤣😅 i leaked as I didn’t realise how much you bleed after a c section or birth for that matter so take loads of knickers and pads/ disposable pants. I will also be getting labelled zip lock bags so like others have said, to make it easier for others to find things when you’re not mobile yourself. I also second the big knickers too as I didn’t I just brought normal “granny knickers” and because they weren’t high enough they rubbed on my scar. Long charger wire too as the beds are far from the sockets. X
This is really helpful as I’ve not started packing my bag yet and I’m 29 weeks plus 2 days and starting to make a list for my hospital bag
Pillows
Not really hospital bag related however then I had my c section I found it very hard to get in and off my toilet as it was low so I had a postpartum trolly that I would take with me from room to room😂 so I had everything I needed and I didn’t need to bend or over stretch
I ended up having an emergency c-section so my bag wasn’t packed accordingly! One thing I was glad to have was slippers/sliders - something you can wear over the compression socks!
