I had the balloon induction - they found it hard to get balloon in which actually should have been my warning that things wouldnā€™t go to planā€¦. In fact I did dilate to 3cm but then they couldnā€™t break my waters so I ended up with a c section - as it was baby was lodged in my pelvis so I would never had got him out šŸ˜©

I was gonna have an induction but luckily I went into labor. But for me it was more worth it to try to have a vbac and go into a c section if needed instead of not trying at all since I knew I wanted more kids and I really wanted a vaginal birth

@Gabrielle thank you for your input, this is also the way I am feeling about things. I desperately want to at least try and have a vaginal birth but Iā€™m feeling a lot of pressure from my partner and family to have a c section šŸ˜ž for some context my last baby was born with severe brain damage as a result of many things including pre eclampsia, undiagnosed fetal growth restriction, medical negligence, misinterpretation of the ctgā€¦.I know it might seem a no brainier for me to choose a c section but I want the birth I imagined having the first time roundā€¦donā€™t know if thatā€™s selfish but itā€™s how I feelšŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜ž

@Emma thanks for the reply! Oh no thatā€™s not good at all bet it all felt like such a waste of timešŸ˜« what gestation were you induced?

I had the balloon! It was in for 24 hours, and had on and off contractions. When it was removed, I was 3cm and labour ā€˜startedā€™. My water were broken about 7 hours after the balloon removed and then baby was born successfully vaginally with gas and air.

I totally get it. For me what I decided to do was I was gonna try until I didnā€™t. Like with my son I had many reasons I had one. One being not progressing very far. So for my second I was like if it takes me forever to progress and things arenā€™t working then Iā€™ll do a c section. Also along with getting an epidural and the very last second type of thing. I didnā€™t want to get it just to get it but I wanted to try without. I also didnā€™t have a high risk pregnancy

It didnā€™t feel like a waste of time (even though in the end it was) because I really wanted to have a natural birth so gave my body ever chance I could - turns out Iā€™m just not made int he right way to get a baby out and Iā€™m ok with that now because I triedā€¦.. Iā€™m glad I tried as now I donā€™t second guess myself x

I had the balloon, wasnā€™t bad going in, cramps started quickly and within about 12 hours it had become uncomfortable and I went to the toilet and it came out. Took them 4/5 to come and check me (no cramps after it came out) and by that time I was basically 2cm which made them think why Iā€™d went back to that- but my baby had turned transverse so was taken for a C-section. X

I have had five VBACā€™s and I was induced for four of them. I received pitocin. Every single time it went smoothly and quickly!

I had the balloon. It wasnā€™t really painful, just uncomfortable. It didnā€™t really work as I only got to 1cm, so they took me down to L&D to break my waters and put me on the drip. Because my cervix was so high they struggled to break my waters and then thought they felt cord in the way so I ended up having a c section.

I had an induced VBAC, they broke my waters and I got to 3cm and stalled (genuinely think itā€™s because my body knew how to get to 3 and no further as thatā€™s when I had my section with my first), I was so against the drip as it caused my section but after making no progress for a while I reluctantly agreed, drip was started at 9am and they wanted me to be 5cm by 3pm, my active labour was pretty quick for technically a first time labour and my daughter was born at 12.58pm šŸ„° tbf probably would have been earlier if she wasnā€™t delivered back to back, I pushed for 1.5 hours with no pain relief, wasnā€™t fun šŸ˜‚ but it beat a c section immensely! I tore very badly and spent 2.5/3 hours in theatre afterwards but that recovery was soooooo easy and way more comfortable than my section šŸ˜‚
