Nope i kept my name

Kept my name. It’s mine. 💁🏻‍♀️

So I know that I want to change my surname but I’m also looking for my 2nd design role, with my portfolio having my maiden surname on it. To switch to his surname, I’d need to update my Dutch passport and I just don’t have the money right now (no job atm), so I’m planning to wait till it’s due for renewal in 2 yrs time. But I just hope changing my surname won’t set me back in terms of work opportunities. My sister kept her maiden surname for similar reasons cuz she’s an architect and had already developed a professional name for herself. But she also has a 3-letter surname, which is great for personal branding.

I legally kept mine hyphenated and when we divorced just dropped using his

We both changed our name to something new

We plan to create a new last name for our family together when we get married (:

Changed my name legally for passport, banks etc. I travel alone with my daughter a lot and have had paperwork issues with her as we had different names. Professionally though I use my maiden name as I can’t change my names on those degrees and he didn’t work for them 😂

I did want to lose my surname but I was wanted to have the same as my husband and kids. Ideally I wanted us to all double barrell but he wasn't up for that so I have, but not hyphenated so I can just use the name we all share when needed but officially I still have my maiden name too

I took his name, my maiden name was my stepdads so wasn’t overly attached.

I kept mine.

I changed my name but I had my mums last name and I absolutely hate every member of her family so I was glad to be rid of it, if I had my dad's last name then I probably would have been less inclined to change it.

I decided to hyphenate since we were planning on having kids, and I want to share a last name with them. I waited until my passport was expired and until I got my driver's license (I got it super late) but since I was getting new forms of ID anyway I thought it was perfect timing lol

Changed mine to his. Wanted to do a mix of both but they said we weren’t allowed :(

@Laura this is our plan as well, to match our kids who have the name we picked x

I kept my surname but moved it to my middle name, so I now have 2 middle names. Then I took my husband’s last name. Our kids last names are hyphenated .

Planning to change mine my partner has a double surname and so does my daughter now and I would love to share that with her plus we are gonna be the only three people with this surname on the world which is kinda cool!

I’m keeping mine and he’s taking my name

I'm keeping mine. It's my name and I've never felt a huge urge to need to legally share the same name as my partner or our son (son has dad's name just because he is the only boy in the family so no one else to carry on the name and I have a brother to do so).

I didn’t want to take his name. Him and my mother bullied me into it. When he dies I’m changing it back

I took my husbands name and made my maiden name a second middle name so I wouldn’t lose it entirely. It can get annoying on paperwork, but I just couldn’t part with it.

I’m changing mine but haven’t yet 😅

I didn’t take my exs name and now I’m glad I didn’t so I don’t have to change it back 🤣

i decided to legally change my whole name
