I just had a failed VBAC and it was traumatic and resulted in another emergency c section but I’m glad I tried as I would’ve always wondered what could’ve happened

I had a failed vbac due to him during last minute, but untill he turned it was going ok, I’m so glad I tried tho, if I didn’t I think I’d of always of wonder what if x

Just had a failed vbac, my baby turned during labour just like my first. I'm really glad I tried though and don't regret or feel bad about having a c-section this time around because I mentally prepared myself for it being a possibility.

Not me personally but I had a friend that had a successful VBAC for her second baby!

I had a successful vbac 6wks ago. When was your csection? Mine was 5 years ago, and I remember the doctor clearly calling out that i could try for another baby or vbac in 18mths. Can’t remember which specifically. Otherwise you would be at risk of a rupture. I delivered at 41wks + 2 days. I agreed to have my waters broken to be induced, but refused the hormone drip. Luckily my body knew what to do and I gave birth within 5 hours! Active labour 1.5hrs, pushing for 20mins maybe less. I might add that I was confident that my body would labour quickly because my first was around 8 hours, active labour really short too before they wheeled me in for section (breech baby). We always knew it’d be a section because of breech. I’m glad I tried for a vbac. But you do you. Whatever is safest for you and baby. If you do go vbac, prepare your body for it and move around heaps during labour.

@Jade my c section was October 2023, and I’m super early in my pregnancy now, I should be due in July 2025. So births would be 21 months apart. Thank you but the details I really appreciate it:)

There’s risks with vbac, but the midwives would be totally supportive and will try and enable a successful vaginal delivery. If you’re keen, go for it!

I chose a repeat c section after my first being such a horrible experience with my emergency section. I don't regret it at all, it was so healing being in control and made for a wonderful birth

@Liv thank you for the input :) im considering it because like..they now have the perfect guide lol. I think there’s like a limit of csections before they recommend no more babies and idk if my practice recommends 2 or 3 I think that’s the average

If you want a VBAC I def recommend looking into spinning babies and getting educated on it on top of having an experienced and supportive medical team. Positions during labor is key to have a successful VBAC.

@Katherine planned c sections tend to be easier healing too because there's less stress. 3 is pretty average across the board but you can ask your Dr every time what they think your uterus can do. Some women can safely have 5+ sections if they let their body heal and their uterus looks good! The Dr can tell right away when opening you if your uterus is getting thin and they will recommend you stop at that point

@Liv thank you for the info! Yeah, my boy was in the right position the whole time, he just wouldn’t drop and I was stuck at 7cm for 12+hours at the time I asked to just get him out

@Katherine no problem! Yeah both of my boys sat deep in my pelvis head down my entire pregnancy and I labored for about 18 hours at home before getting checked, never made it past 3🤣 they both had too wide of shoulders to engage any further than where they sat

I attempted a VBAC but ended up calling for a csection and glad I did. My uterine was one contration or one kick from baby in the right spot from a rupture. My uterine was tearing and when they did the c-section Doctor said the window was paper thin she could see my baby, and didn't neven have to cut into my uterine. I felt really sick and felt like something was just really off during my attempted VBAC and things started to slow down a little. So I called for a csection. Doctor asked if I really wanted to because I was progressing and I told the docotor yes that something felt off/wrong. That Doctor listen to me and ended up telling me I made an amazing call that potentially saved both me and my baby's life.

Ask if your uterus is tipped. Mine is. Glad I got c-sections.

@Lori it’s not, we checked last time lol
