My son is on his 5th bout of it in the space of a year.. only just got over it 2 weeks ago 🙃 he also has eczema so it attacks that as well badly. I know his nursery accepts them in providing they're not poorly in themselves, but because he gets it so bad I end up keeping him off until he's a lot better. He was up every hour last night crying with it 😩 I get your frustration, I really do!
I know it doesn't help but the NHS states that they don't need to be kept off school/nursery so people see it similar to a cold if they are feeling OK. But I get your view point, I don't think mentioning it to your friend would do any good, I would may just drop in ' little one has HFM again' if she checks in or asks for a play date
I totally get it. My LO had it twice, and with him having eczema, it ended up really bad. He took it in both cases from the nursery. Now, the nurseries accept the kids with the virus as long as they are well, regardless of how the virus would affect other kids. We kept our son at home for a couple of days, then saw the GP and they said he was is ok to go back to nursery. Now, I wouldn't take him to playgroups, but I suppose the same rule applies, but again, it's up to the parents as well. Knowing how this affect my kid, I would chose the only way I could control it, by asking before any playgroup if anyone has the virus etc and would decide if I want to take him there or not. You will not be able to control what other people do unfortunately.
