I heard that they recently changed their entire staff due to complaints, which would explain the rudeness the first time round, and the amazing care recently
I moved over from London to WHH so was used to the London hospital scheduling most of my appointments up to 5 months ahead. But when I moved over to WHH, I basically had to call in most times for things like ultrasound which made me feel a little lost sometimes as a first time mother not knowing what appointments were due. Besides that, I can say the overall experience was good. Whenever I went in for reduced movement they were very responsive. The team who delivered my son were very lovely and helpful and the after birth care amazing too.
👀 not heard good things. I went here once due to ambulance taking me during pregnancy and it was by far the worst place I have ever been. Absolutely rude and had to have my bloods done 4 times as they couldn’t find my vein though never had a problem anywhere else. 2 women died from csection herpes infection that was the surgeons fault at this hospital. Personally I would never go there based on these things however this was last year that I had my experience they may have made improvements
During my miscarriage they showed no empathy and were messing around like silly children with Easter chicks clucking at each other! They sat me in a waiting room full of excited pregnant women to wait for my scan that confirmed the worst. They made an awful experience even worse. I met just one member of staff who was kind and caring.
I couldn't fault anything over my whole pregnancy and birth everyone was kind and understanding and listened to every question I had as a first time mum.
Had all three of mine there and fantastic. The student midwife with my second was perfect. And with my third, I was extremely high risk, and they put me as ease every appointment. The midwife who delivered her was second to none. Personally, I think the maternity is excellent.
I live in Ashford and gave birth in London (personal choice). I went to WHH during the early days of my pregnancy as I had HG. They were ok but I had to often push for what I wanted.
I gave birth there 7 weeks ago. I thought midwives and other staff were nice and kind. I had an epidural and an assisted delivery as baby got stuck in birth canal. I didn't like the postnatal ward (Folkstone) one bit - shared room with 4 families, it was no place to rest and recover, but might be the case it's like that everywhere.
I had both my daughters here, and the care I had before giving birth was amazing, I was in a few times with reduced movements and they were amazing, I had some problems with babies growth in the second pregnancy and they were amazing at giving me advice/information about the problem we had. The care I had with the labour on the first was a bit iffy, had rude midwives ect (although some of that would come down on me being a clueless first time mum, not really knowing what to expect, so I’d imagine they were sick of me🤣), but the second time I couldn’t fault them one bit. The lady we had delivering our daughter was so lovely, she encouraged me to have a natural birth with no birth control & without her I wouldn’t have done it, she even come round to see us in Folkestone ward afterwards when we had settled with baby.
