Belly binder

When do you start wearing a belly support binder after your section? Google conflicting info, some say straight after hospital, some same wait until wound is healing. Confused?!

My doctor gave me one to wear right after when I was in the hospital. I started relearning it when I could get up and shower but I was glued shut .. I hear many women saying they had stitches but I only had stitches on the inside. So I can’t speak on a case where there are stitches on the outside. EDIT: I had anesthesia half way through my c section so I guess they put it on me before they took me back to my room.. I don’t recall anything til I held my son back in the room after waking up

The doctors put mine on me straight off the table with both of my c-sections.

Same here, before they took me off of the surgery table they put one on me

i had staples and the hospital didn’t give me one. i bought one about a week after my c section. my cousin had stitches and started wearing one right away, she’s the one who told me to get one.

Wait until the wound healed, although my GP advised against it and said there's limited research evidence to say it helps and more harmful to organs than helpful. I didn't wear one in the end as it was so uncomfortable.

They put it on you before you leave the hospital usually. I’ve had 3. It makes you feel like your body is kept together, trust me 😂😂🫶🏻

My doctors never put one on me....I got one for free through my insurance and I bought one off Amazon (the one from Amazon was way better). I wore it a couple days after surgery. It helped me feel "together" when I needed to use my core for getting up

I started using one about 4 days pp, just when I'm going to be moving around consistently for more than an hour

I just had my surgery on Monday, I asked for and got my binder last night. This is my second cesarean, I think the first time I may have gotten my binder immediately but I can’t quite remember.

I was told not to use one at all 🤔
