Horrendous back pain

Has anyone else after there section had back pain so bad it’s gone off and you are unable to do anything? I had back pain whilst pregnant and then worse after section, and now I am unable to tend to my daughter and I’ve never felt so useless in my entire life. She has had to stay at grandmas last night and my mother is staying at ours tonight to look after her because my partner has to work as obviously I’m on maternity and I just feel so useless and I miss my daughter so much and just want to pick her up etc 😭

Have you been to see a massage therapist/chiropactor? I had awful posture whilst pregnant with baby 1 and carrying and feeding baby bent over for months after does damage too. I saw a specialist and the relief was great. I’m on baby 2 now and having regular pregnancy massages and no back pain this time xx

My back is so tight. I went to a PT who said that my back is super tight trying to compensate for my weak core and so I really need to do core excercises and strengthen my deep core as well. He showed me some movements where you lay face down on a thera ball and tuck your pelvis and crunch your shoulders around the ball. It’s haaaaaaard and I feel it so deep!

@Sarah I want to book in with one but I can’t afford it 😭

I have but usually only lasts a few hours, I also can’t do anything during that time though besides lay flat with heating pad which barely helps but makes it more bearable, that and taking Tylenol but it won’t completely go away until I sleep a few hours

Yes!! I’m 8 months PP and have had excruciating lower back pain for 4 weeks. It came out of no where. I see an Osteo regularly which is usually for tight shoulders from when I’m working at a desk but when I saw her 2 weeks ago she said I had locked my entire right lower back because of the carrying, breast feeding positions etc She helped initially and then I’ve spent the last 2 weeks being as mobile as possible with walks and yoga as I found resting actually made it worse and made me freeze up! If you’re in to yoga I’ve found starting with 15mins stretchy ones and then upping to 20 mins flow ones has really helped xx

I’ve always had a bad back but lately I’m destroyed with it. I had sciatica from about week 20 of my pregnancy which thankfully has eased off now, but now I’m just left with a spine like a loose stack of pebbles. Picking up baby, walking, getting up the stairs, getting out of bed, picking stuff off the floor… I am FUCKED. I went to the GP the other day and begged her for a scan because I’ve done all the physio, all the yoga, all the Pilates, spent thousands on an osteopath, acupuncture, massage, back rehab class, etc., and I’m just running out of ideas now. 😖

I have not done a massage this time but I’ve gone to the chiro a lot. There isn’t a good place with a time that works so I’ve just gone to chiro. After my first I went to chiro after 6 weeks I think and felt better.

Yes, I had an awful pain in the middle right hand side of my back after my section, I swear at times it was worse than the pain in my incision because nothing relieved it and it was constant. I really struggled changing and dressing my son and would have to keep stopping and at times just cry because I couldn't do anything and felt useless, I think it was trapped air from the surgery. Please don’t feel bad because your mum is staying over to help, you NEED to try and take that time to rest and get a good nights sleep, you’ve had major surgery and also need a bit of respite to help your back. If it’s not too soon after your section, go and take a warm bath and have some rest, you'll feel like you shouldn't but please take that opportunity to take care of yourself for a moment. Happy mum happy baby x
