39+3, it’s normal that they’re done in the 39th week, I think it’s to stop people booking them to have baby earlier…xx
Mine was supposed to be 39 weeks, I thought it was late then got a call at 38+2 for a booking the following day! I believe She would have definitely arrived before my section otherwise! X
@Paige oh I’d love that to be the case as I feel like she’s going to come before then and then it’s going to be a big rush 😅😅 xx
@Laura I felt very unprepared when they called to tell me, but I’m so glad now that I had that short notice! 20 hours notice is better than an emergency section I guess (which mine would have been with a breech baby) I have my fingers crossed for you! Xx
Mine is booked in for 39+3. My doctor said they try and keep the baby in as long as they can with a planned c section and it’s always after 39w so your date sounds correct x
I've had 2 sections and both times I started labour before the date. I just called, they checked me and got me in theater really quickly
@Paige yes, I feel like in some ways it would be nice for the short notice so as to not overthink it too much but planning childcare for my toddler it is easier to have it planned! Hope you and baby are doing well! Xx
@Conchi did you ever have any tenderness around your scar towards the end? How far along were you when you went into labour x
Mine was also 39 + 1 and I thought that it's late, but I was explained that they would make emergency c section if I would go to natural labour earlier. They just don't do it for baby's sake earlier than 39 weeks. For me it doesn't matter any way now as my baby was already born on 37 +3 due to preeclampsia via emergency c section. Good luck 🤗 really nothing to worry about I had it on Wednesday night a week ago and on Saturday afternoon I realised pain is almost gone. Take medication before it starts to hurt and you'll heal really quickly. Although first 3 days were very difficult. But like I said now it's almost as before the surgery
Same as you 39 + 2 was booked in at my 36 week appointment I think it's the norm now.
I haven’t even been given a date…been admitted to the ward as baby is transverse so just living here now waiting….how far in advance did you get your dates?
@Laura I've nevwr had tenderness around the scar but that's something they asked me so I guess it is not uncommon. First oregnancy I went into labour at 38+5 this time 39+2 I was booked for a section at 39+3 (apparently baby could not wait 1 day)
I’m booked in for 39+3 (2 weeks tomorrow!) and I also feel that’s really late considering my son came by emergency at 36+4 😂 But she’s stayed put so far so sure everything will be fine lol!x
@Kati oh sorry to hear you’ve been admitted and just waiting. Have they given you an idea of how long you’ll be waiting? My consultant requested it at 37 weeks exactly, I was meant to get a call by 38 weeks. That didn’t happen so I called them and they booked me in on the phone for 39+2. Not sure id have got a call otherwise 🤷♀️

@Lauren mines a week tomorrow and it’s so close now but I’m sure it’ll be the longest week of my life 😂 I went in to be induced with my first at the same point I’m at today. Happy for her to keep cooking but it’s feeling more painful this time and I’m ready! Hope your c section goes well 🙏🏻 x
@Laura even though I know every pregnancy is different, it’s strange not being the same as first time round right? 😂 Aww thank you, good luck to you too!! Be here in no time!xxx
@Laura they came round this afternoon to say they have booked me on for Monday so not much longer now 😬😬
39+4 x
