Mine hasn't gone down yet... almost 5 months post partum
I can’t really remember but I’m 4m pp now and it’s gone, I don’t have an ‘overhang’ anymore I can see the scar when I look in the mirror but I do have a bit of a shelf still but mostly seems to be loose skin and is going with healthy eating and exercise!
@Ellie If u don’t mind me asking when u say exercise what kind of exercise do you mean? like gentle exercise such as walking, jogging etc or full body gym workouts??x
6 month pp still there
@Lauren how to tell if you have diastasis?
I'm 1 year PP from my second section so I don't remember but pretty close around 3 months and then back to toned around 4 months when I really got back on track with working out
@Samina there’s videos on YouTube on how to check for this. Basically when you lay down, you’ll reach your head up and put your fingers near your belly button to check if there is space between your left and right abdominal muscles. I had a 4 finger gap but got it down to 2 fingers. Just hanging onto the 2 finger gap now 😢 it takes a lot of PT and gentle exercises. The ab separation creates the bulge for me.
After about 3 months it was flat again and by 5 months I had muscle definition back. But I was back into long distance running by 12ish weeks (I was a runner before baby). Yoga really helped switch my muscles back on and muscle memory soon followed. By 6 months I was in most of my old clothes like jeans but my shape changed post baby and never fully went back. I’m a bit curvier and my boobs are bigger, no matter what I did postpartum.
Never cause I got pregnant again. 😭😭😭
@Lauren thank you that makes sense
@Sarah what type of yoga did you do specifically and is it on YouTube?
im 7m pp, its completely deflated, however thankfully i had no post-op complications.
@Dys how?
I ended up with diastasis so mine is still inflated 😭 + an abdominal hernia. 4 months PP
