No pain during, but you can feel them tugging etc. They said to me it will feel like they’re doing the washing up in your belly and that was spot on. It is obviously sore afterwards for a week or so, but it’s manageable. I had an emergency last time and it was initially my worst nightmare but I have got an elective booked for my second, as it was no where near as bad as I thought. Have you been able to discuss with your midwife?
Hiya! I had an emergency section in June 2023. The surgery doesn’t hurt, I had the epidural rather than full spinal as I started with an induction - having that inserted just feels like a twinge, not painful at all. They check that you’re numb before they start. Once they are getting baby out, you can feel them moving baby around to get them out but it isn’t pain, just a feeling. From opening to having baby out took about 10 minutes in total, then I was sewn up and in recovery within 30 mins. Major surgery can be really scary and is for so many women. Please don’t feel like you have to have a section however, I’m on my second high risk pregnancy and can have a vaginal delivery if I wish. For what it’s worth, I’ll be opting for an elective section this time around, despite my first being an emergency!
Can’t feel a thing, no pain at all. Just a quick sting for the spinal (which is actually really quick and easy) and it’s almost instant. Just felt a bit of tugging but i could feel everything from the boobs up so I could hold baby on my chest and things. I’m a huge chicken with needles and things and my section was so calm I’ve got my second one booked for next month xx
Weirdest experience ever for me 😂 no pain but I could feel them moving me and pushing and pulling. I felt soooooo icky? Idk the right word here but it was a funky feeling
It doesn’t hurt, you can’t feel pain, you just feel them tugging which isn’t the most comfortable thing in the world but it isn’t painful. The recovery isn’t too bad either, you will be sore for a few weeks but as long as you rest and don’t over do it, those first few weeks will fly by. Regular painkillers will help you x
it doesn't hurt, but i did find it quite uncomfortable. you can feel a lot of pulling, but no pain whatsoever! my experience was amaaazing and I'd do it again if I were to have another!
