@Jessica did you tear badly?
I think they said it was a second degree tear but I healed up nice and quick and you don’t even really feel it when they sew you up they give you the baby and you really just forget about the world after that
From everything I’ve heard & read from doctors & friends/family, baby’s measurements can be off by plus or minus 2lbs, so it’s really hard for them to make accurate statements about baby’s weight this close to term. Ask about the benefits, risks, etc to any procedure your dr is suggesting so you can be more informed and advocate for yourself.
I agree with @Sarah. My daughter was the opposite, she was measuring small, they thought she was going to be around 5lbs due to a fetal growth restriction. I was induced at 39 weeks and she was 6lbs 6oz and perfectly healthy. I also had a second degree tear. It wasn’t super comfortable afterwards and I had to use a donut to sit on for a couple of days. But like @Jessica I would have rather had the tear, c-sections freak me out too. Listen to your gut and advocate for yourself if needed ♥️
How big do they think baby is measuring? I had a friend who was induced because they told her baby was measuring big and when he came out he was 7.5lbs. Listen to your gut! I think some doctors can be very quick to suggest c sections or inductions. Also, if you opt for a c section, why would they want to do it as early as 37 weeks instead of letting baby keep growing inside? I’ve had placenta previa my whole pregnancy which just cleared at 36 weeks, so I’ve spent a lot of time learning/prepping for a c section and it seems like they can definitely be calm and peaceful when it’s a scheduled one, but it is major surgery and it’s still a lot on the mama! There’s never a clear answer- this stuff is so tricky! Sending you ❤️
@Liz I am 34 weeks and my baby measure 6lb already and also I have pcos and I was big baby myself my mom told me i was 10 lb , so I think it’s genetic even my partner was big baby too that’s why I believe that my baby is big
Ah I see!
My son was big and I had gestational diabetes so my doctor did talk to me about a c section but i advocated for myself and said I wanted to try to have him naturally at 39 weeks. He came on his own 3 days early but it was a long labor, 4 hours of pushing. I would do it all over again i personally am way to afraid to have a c section if it’s not 100% necessary. He was 8 lbs 11 oz. They told me he was going to be over 10 lbs.
