@Lottie ooo yeah that’s a good idea people did this for us but we ended up getting takeaways felt awful but I could get a just eat voucher for her!
Definitely agree with home cooked meals. There is also ‘Cook’ if you’re in the UK that deliver delicious home cooked freezer meals, so you could get her a voucher for that? Recovery wise; - Granny pants - M&S a size up are great for this (the section scar will be on her bikini line, so massive pants are sooooo much more comfortable) - Paracetamol and Ibuprofen - she will need a lot of these the first couple of weeks - Something for constipation - This was the worst part about recovery for me, so highly recommend Then just general ‘new mum’ things. My friend bought me easy to eat snacks for breastfeeding, breast pads, nipple creams. If she’s planning to formula feed, the formula itself, nappies, wipes and muslins (because you never have enough 😂). And generally just helping her around the house if you have the time. Let her have all the snuggles whilst you tidy up the never ending mess that seems to pile up 😬 So so lovely that you want to do something for her though ☺️
@Deanna oooo I didn’t even think about the drugs! I just remember my baby’s dad staying at home while I drove to boots to try and find something for the ache! I wanted to go so I can ask someone myself 🤣 and was given spritzzz for bits Hahaa!! And some like liners but with cooling gel in them and was told to have salt baths! Is this the same for csections? And oooo I bet she’ll think I’m joking for the constipation so I’ll definitely get her some for it! You need a little laugh after giving birth 🤣♥️ and I’m all for it! I’ve told her to not have any visitors you’ll regret it and our mum is so upset but I’ve kept her at bay! We’ll have a lovely Christmas with a new baby and leave her to it ♥️ I’ve been going round with my boy so he gets used to seeing his auntie with a bump and talking babies as well so I’ve been helping with the bending jobs 🤣
Peppermint oil capsules, I got these in the hospital after my c section n they were better then the morphine helped with cramping and bloating. Still use them now 10 weeks pp best thing I ever used. There mainly used for ibs that's where they'll be in the pharmacy but promise u now she will thank u for getting them, it's my number one recommendation. They should be 0.2ml tablets the bulk ones u can buy online don't actually contain the right stuff x
@Willow straight in my Amazon basket thank you so much xx
Maybe a nice fleece blanket to have around
@Samantha oooo Yeahh I’ll be going round with a hamper soon!! Xxxx
Excellent do you know I even may be a nice pair of slippers maybe a few gift cards for things she likes like I’m not sure where you’re located but like coffee, shots or restaurants or DoorDash or Uber or maybe you can get her a restaurant card for that
My SIL did a care basket, chocolates, sweets, crisps, angel delight mix, hot water bottle and some face packs along with a few other bits and pieces which i really appreciated
I’m scheduled for my first c section next month! One thing my partner has gotten is those silicone scar patches. I’ve heard they work great! https://www.target.com/p/frida-mom-c-section-silicone-scar-patches/-/A-83387835 You could also do a nice belly oil (like tubby Todd), some of her favorite treats, comfy pajama bottoms/sweat pants bottoms (target has some great ones, or kindred bravely). Frida baby even makes a whole c section recovery kit if she doesn’t have it yet
My sister recommended these https://www.target.com/p/women-39-s-cloud-knit-short-sleeve-top-and-jogger-pants-pajama-set-auden-8482-heathered-gray-m/-/A-91352018
@Claire I have already shown her these patches and she’s bought them so I’m glad to hear they work! 🙌🏻 xx
@Claire awww I’m glad I’ve started getting her favourites 🤣 just in case xx
