Possible conjunctivitis?

My little girl has having a right bad run.. so she caught HFM off of her cousin she did so well with that got over it really quickly. Now she has a cold which is standard this time of year but I’ve noticed her eyes are weeping. Now the gunk isn’t bright green it’s like watery and sticky? If that makes sense?? And then it’s sticking to her eyelashes etc. she’s not in any discomfort I’m cleaning them Regular with clean hands. They are fine in the day but morning and night they seem to come on quite bad. Help? 😢

If the eye is also pink, gunk sticking eyes mostly shut ( hence pink eye) go GP to get prescribed eye drops it’ll clear up. if it’s not too bad just keep cleaning the eye with warm water preferably with cotton wool so you don’t use the same one for each wipe to keep on getting it back, it’ll clear up on its own time my middle child is going through it too

My little boy had conjunctivitis and had a cream prescribed for it when he was three months old. I cleaned his eyes 3 to 4 times a day with cooled boiled water and breast milk, but unfortunately didn’t clear it up. Definitely go to the Gp x

@Rumbi Thankyou! Fortunately her eyes aren’t pick red or sore they are just weeping but I’ve woken up with her just and there’s nothing there. @Laura oh bless him poor little thing it’s not nice. I’ve been using cooked boiled water it doesn’t seem to be getting worse but doesn’t seem like it’s shifting really. My drs are shut over the weekend would 111 sort some drops out for her?? D

If you are concerned definitely call 111 there is nothing worse than worrying. The pharmacy might also be able to help, but they might direct you to GP. The gp did swab my little one’s eyes first x

@Laura I don’t feel concerned at this moment I was just thinking incase it got worse over the weekend. Hopefully it doesn’t but I’ve checked them this morning and you wouldn’t even know they’ve been weeping at all. Hopefully it goes! Thankyou for your comments it’s much appreciated xx

My little one had the exact same! HFM and then conjunctivitis a few days later, they wouldn’t give us anything for either, it’s now been a week and the one eye only gets gunky first thing so it is clearing…slowly 😩x

@Kerry oh that’s reassured me a lot! I’ve read that there’s different types of conjunctivitis and as hfm is a viral infection it can lead to viral conjunctivitis which they don’t prescribe anything for so fingers crossed it’s that! Bless your little one hope their better soon xx

I hope so! Thank you, you too! X
