I was told to shower as soon as possible to make sure that the wound stays clean but to only wash with water around the wound even though the dressing was still on. I had a shower less than 6 hours after the C-section but that was because I got sick. Usually I think they recommend showering the day after the C-section.

I showered the day after both my sections. I was advised not to directly wash the incision but the let the plain water hit my chest and just run down over the wound. Pat dry don’t rub and leave it open to the air to dry fully.

Shower when u want just don't put soap or rub the area. Make sure you pat dry gently when done don't rub. Only showers for first 6 weeks. After 6 weeks u can bath. I still only use water u clean my wound 10 weeks pp. Soap and fragrances can irritate it. If u really feel the need to wash it use fragrance free and soap free wash my favourite are femfresh, yes ik it's labelled as intimate area soap but I use this for all wound cleaning like my fresh tattoos n stuff x

I was told to wash the wound with just water in the shower and pat dry with a towel x

I had my c section at 9am, in recovery by 11am and then by 4:30pm I was up and showered and walking around most of the night x

Depends on what they tell you. My dressing had to stay on and dry for 5 days so I was only allowed to wash and could shower on day 5 when it came off.

I had a shower on the maternity ward
