Mucus plug? Early labour?

I’m 37+4 first time mum. Last night I’ve started getting tightness around my tummy and strong period pains lasting a minute or two, every 20mins to an hour. This pain radiated down my legs and into my lower back. The only position I was comfortable in was led on my left side or on my birthing ball. I’m wondering if this is early labour? I’m aware that this could go on for days/weeks prior to full labour. I believe I have also started loosing my mucus plug in parts if anyone can shed any light ? Photo in comments. I am so exhausted and just want my girl here now.

@Jess waters broke at 0530 this morning and now having contractions. In hospital waiting to see if they want to speed things along or not as I’m high risk xxx

Your mucus plug can regenerate multiple times. It's only an indication labour is near if it's your bloody show. I'm 40 weeks today and have been having tightenings for the last 3/4 weeks and extreme pain in my back. Was sure labour was near with the amount of pain I've been going through but I've had two unsuccessful sweeps.
