Teething

This may be a stupid question but how do you know when your little one is definitely teething?? My little girl is 5 months and slept awfully last night she kept moaning/whinging and today she has been constantly doing the same or crying way more than usual. Her gums look a tiny bit red but not massively but she woke up screaming from her nap and put her hand straight to her mouth, could this be teething? Should I give calpol etc if she seems in pain

My girl is going through teething right now. Luckily she sleeps well at night but today she has been moaning and then had a full blown tantrum. I ended up giving her Calpol for the first time because teething toys or the teething powder we tried had done nothing for her. 10 mins after Calpol and she is fast asleep. Her front bottom teeth are both visible and she has done great so far but today it became too much for her. Poor love ❤️

Yes sounds like teething and the fact she is 5 months definitely teething. Is her cheeks flushed and red? You’ll notice her grinding her teeth on toys or her hand the worse it gets. Also a lot LOT of dribbling xx

We’ve just had a tooth pop through but prior had red cheeks, seriously unsettled, wanted cuddles, hands in mouth.. we used the salts, nurofen & iced teether toys x

@Emily yes she has had slightly rosy cheeks for the past 2 days! I can also hear her almost grinding her gums against each other if that makes sense! Like she’s chewing!
