I guess tbh it depends on your child, are they showing signs they are ready to start etc? My daughter chose to do it herself so we followed her and had it cracked in a day or 2 im in my third trimester whilst doing it 🤦♀️
I mean you could prep her that as part of the house move the nappies won't be able to move with you and that she'll get to use a potty/toilet instead. All depends on how much chaos you think will be everywhere with the move. Having potty trained over August bank holiday this year with friends staying on the first day the level of chaos your kid will tolerate when potty training really depends on their temperament and only you can answer that. If it was me I'd just start now
In a similar boat here but without the house move - starting nursery in January and new baby in July. My son is nearly 3 though and still not showing any real signs/interest in the potty. I think for now I’m going to focus on exposure and prep; we already have the potty out but going to try one of the toilet seat things with a little ladder, we’ve got a few books about using the potty/not using nappies and will start encouraging him to go before bath time and in the mornings. Hopefully he’ll show more interest and we can just follow his lead which is what I’d prefer rather than feeling pressured into it x
My daughter is showing all signs of readiness but we are moving house next month, so I’m going to settle her into the new house first. I’d say move in, get settled, then get it done before new baby 🤍 (but I’ve never done potty training so no real idea, just winging it like the rest of us lol) xx
Start now, ours loved it. We use it as story time. We started at 3 months and she was out of nappies by 20 months. Now she’s so proud to warm meat pants and tells us when she needs the toilet. It’s amazing
If you do Oh Crap method or similar your toddler will probably have nailed it within 1-2 weeks. Definitely go for it now while you’ve got time (and energy!). There will always be little regressions (my LO is having a big dev leap just now so keeps forgetting to go potty and wetting herself), and you may find this happens in Jan and June, but getting the actual training part sorted now will mean all the hard work is done! The rest is just reminders x
A lot of kids can often regress after the baby arrives so not sure what you’d be best doing I’d say if they’re showing a lot of obvious signs to start after house move x
