Look into the 3 day potty training book, that’s what worked for us! I would set timer for every 30 minutes and if he doesn’t go then try again after 5-10 minutes. Push a lot of fluids/snacks that have that water in it. Absolutely ditch pull ups unless it’s used for nap/bedtime. Instead of doing stickers, do candy (maybe find something healthy/little to no sugar?), small toys, fruit snacks, etc for the rewards. Every time he goes potty make a huge deal out of it! YOU are the one in charge, not him. YOU have to stick with it! The first day will be tough and a lot of accidents so don’t let it discourage you. The second day should be better and by the third day he should be telling you he has to go or going himself! If by the 3rd day he’s still having accidents, it’s fine, don’t start to feel discouraged/it’s not working until around day 10. If by day 10, it’s not working, then look at your approach and see what needs changed! Sorry for the long comment, good luck!
going through the same with my 3 year old!!! he knows but chooses not to go. today he's done really good not going in his pull up!! i have been doing every 45 minutes. i told him if we are able to go all the time, we can go to the store and pick out a toy!!
My girl goes pee on the potty no problem but poop is another story. She only wants to push in her diaper. Idk how to make the switch cause she’ll cry and cry for a diaper and will hold her poop in on purpose till she gets one 🫠 solidarity cause this is hard
@Erica my daughter would hide and poop. I let her sit on the toilet and color or read a book. Within 6 minutes of doing that she pooped and we haven’t had a poop accident since. Maybe you can try that?!
He will start once he's comfortable with it. My 3 yrs old was first introduced to the potty at 13mths and wasn't interested. Now that she watch shows that talk about using the potty she's over her fear and goes on her own. Just give him time, he'll show interest when he's ready to explore it
I am in the same situation with my son. I will definitely try what other moms are recommending 🙏🏻 thanks!
Same
@Indigo I let her sit on the potty for as long as it takes but she literally won’t go lol we have toys and books for her to play with too. I even tried snacks lmao
I’m going through the same with my 3y it’s been really rough to even get him interested and now I have a 1m old
We got our kids the potty watches that sing a little song when it’s time for them go potty and you can set the frequency they go. We started with every 15 to get them used to the sound and the bathroom and then every 30 and then every hour. Poop takes longer to get them comfortable but they do go!
I have a 3 and 4 year old I had absolutely nooo help whatsoever didn’t do any additional reading on books past the first 2 initial books I read because the advice didn’t help me AT ALLLLLL….however if anyone is interested I’m just finishing my ebook about potty training since it’s still super fresh in the brain…I haven’t had any accidents with my sons yet but it’s already been 2 and 4 months so I’m just hoping we’re past that point but if anyone is interested pls pls let me know
@Angelica I am very interested in any advice you have for potty training
@Genevieve hiii girl!!! Ok um how far into are you? Like what steps is your baby taking or not taking? That way I know where to start giving u some tips and begin breaking it down for u girly
@Angelica we just started sitting on the potty here and there as I do have a 1m old but I’m trying to be more consistent about trying to get him to sit at least every hour
Every 15 minutes is wayyyyy to frequent.. we had great success with every hour. Potty timer went off, and he knew he was sitting on that potty one way or another. We also never did any sort of reward, we just praised and clapped for him when he made it. Accidents will happen, but just cold turkey cutting out pull-ups/diapers is the way to go
