Early Labor or Poop/Gas Pain

Over the last few weeks I’ve been experiencing excruciating pain which I thought was just a poop/gas pain…sometimes I’ll be able to poop and sometimes I won’t. But now I’m thinking maybe that’s Braxton hicks or early labor? I’m so bad at telling. The pain only lasts a couple of seconds but is really intense and is lower down in my stomach.

Most likely braxton hicks. Specially if they dont get worse or closer together. If you drink water or rest or go pee an they go away its just braxton hicks

It’s a good thing! Body’s prepping for labor! I’ve been told to stay hydrated, change positions, and focus on relaxing & breath work.

Thanks y’all! I just honestly wasn’t even sure if it was Braxton hicks or just really intense gas/poop pains lol with my first I really didn’t feel anything until the day my labor started and it was intense from the very beginning so I know that I’ll know when actual labor begins. I just know that some women have early labor for many weeks and they slowly dilate over time, which was not my experience the first time around. Whatever it is, it’s good practice for actual labor because I have to try to breathe and relax through them till it passes.

Definitely understandable better to be safe

I thought I was for sure having a contraction the other day but it ended up just being gas 😅 it’s hard to tell at this point. Braxton hicks shouldn’t necessarily hurt, they should be more of a tight feeling than pain. If it’s like a shooting pain down low it could be baby putting pressure on your cervix/nerves. My baby does it a lot and it hurts
