Have you ever had an induction unmedicated?

I’ve had two now and wondering if anyone else had that experience? If so, how was your experience?

I did with my first and all the nurses were making a huge deal out of it. I didn’t realise how much harder an induction was until I had my natural labor and it was sooooo much easier lol

@Tessa yes my natural labor was way easier too! Cool I’m glad I’m not the only one!

My second was an unmedicated induction. Honestly I didn't notice much of a difference pain-wise from my spontaneous labor (also unmedicated.) If anything I'd prefer my induction if I had to do one over again, it was sooooo much faster and smoother and a way easier recovery

Yes. I was induced (unplanned) with my first, doctor had to pop my water too. I went thru the pain. Gave birth via vaginal with no medication. I don’t think I’m getting induced with this pregnancy so I’m aiming for an unmedicated via vaginal birth again. I stayed positive, be open minded (epidural or natural) and went with the flow.

@Lacy I guess everyone’s experience is different

@s a r a 🥀 the spontaneous vaginal birth for me and most I believe is nice and gradual whereas the induction is like going from 0-100 😵‍💫

@incog I guess so! I've been told my induction experience isn't the most common, even the nurses were really surprised with how it went. No clue what made it go so fast but baby was born less than 3 hours after the induction started. Compared to my 19 hour spontaneous labor I couldn't complain 😂

The moment my doctor popped my water, the contraction immediately hit and I was so uncomfortable 😭😭

Yep my second, pessary, waters broke, hormone drip and I had no pain relief. Gas and air was suspended at the time and I held out for so long it was too late for anything else, by the time I asked I was ready to push. Gutted I wasn't able to do the same for my third but that was a whole other level of pain. Every birth really is different, it's crazy!

I was unmedicated until 9-10cm (not my intention I just progressed crazy fast) and it was hell. I was convinced my back was breaking. But my baby was also stuck, I do wonder if I’d have been able to do it unmedicated if it wasn’t for that. I’d never do it again if I can help it😂

horrific, I passed out from pain. baby was sunny side up

I had an induction first time first born all I had was gas and air it also lead me to have back to back contractions

I have had 2! 😊 my first time no one believed that i would make it without any pain management. When i went in for my second no one questioned if i would do it without anything and my amazing nurse would cheer me on. Both lasted 18 hours from pitocin starting to baby being born and both were soooo different!

I chose to have epidural as soon as they started induction with my 3rd but it didnt work and midwife didnt believe me so I did but not by choice 🤣 Cant lie it wasnt even that bad it was the same as my 2nd baby who wasnt induced (he was also unmedicated) xx
