15 hours of not working and I’m pretty sure it would be straight away as January is the start of a new term

even if she turns 3 at the end of january? or would i need to wait till april

https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk will tell you all the information on there

Funding is from the term after they become eligible, so if she’s 3 at the end of Jan, I would expect she would only get funded hours from April. And it would be 15h, as above.

Also worth baring in mind the waiting lists on nurseries.

I’m a SAHM, my 3 year old was only entitled to 15 hours after I quit work xx

My daughter was 3 end of Jan and got the free hours after April half term

@Claire when did you apply ?

It would be the term after they turn three so from the start of Summer term (which is later this year - end of April). My son turns 9 months in Jan and I won’t qualify for the 15 hours until the Summer term. Whereas my daughter turned three this month so she will get the 30 hours from January.

My son was 3 last Jan and he got his funding from the April term. I was only working 10hrs, husband full time and we were entitled to 15hrs. I believe you need to work 12hrs or earn over a set amount to get 30hrs.
