Cramlington hospital

I’m having a planned c section with my baby girl due in January. I’ve heard so many amazing things about cramlington and tempted to change from going to the rvi. Is it right that everyone gets their own room and partners are allowed to stay? This wasn’t the case at the rvi and partner had to go home after my son. In two minds on which hospital to have baby at. Any advice/recommendations would be amazing

Hi yes it is correct I had my own room my partner was allowed to stay for the entire duration that we were there. I do know I've spoke to a friend who has said the Rvi must have changed now as you apparently get own room and partners allowed to stay but I couldn't fault cramlington when I had my daughter there

I had my baby at cramlington in October! The staff throughout the whole birth were brilliant, couldn’t fault them at all! We were then moved to our own room after the birth. My partner was allowed to stay but they wouldn’t give him any food, just me. He had to have his bed put away early in the morning. And the whole care once you were in that room was a bit hopeless, they weren’t on the ball

Yes it's correct I had a planned c section there it was lovely. Only thing was it could take a while for support when you pressed the buzzer and partners bed had to be pur away early x

That’s right! I didn’t have a c section there but my boy was born end of September at NSECH and I’d switched from RVI to there xoxo

I had an emcs at cramlington in August, you have a private room and yes your partner can stay with you for the duration of your stay if they are your birth partner but their bed has to be put away by 8am I think. Only downside I found is they take ages to answer the buzzer and often forgot what youd even asked for. Aswell as it being huge battle to get medication or any pain relief unless it was the middle of the night. I was also refused food at times too because I didn't make it back to my room from visiting my baby in SCBU for the changable mealtimes. But my bad experience might not be the same as others.
