If you think you might need help, reach out to your HV, GP or self refer. There is help out there for you and there is no shame or harm in pursuing it ♥️
I had both, but in the simplest terms, depression is low mood and anxiety is being unable to control or stop worrying. In the UK, you can talk to your GP if you want medication and/or therapy. Or you can self-refer for talking therapy on the NHS. You will be prioritised for treatment if you are in the first 12 months pp (I waited only 2-3 days but that will depend on where you live). I only did therapy, I was breastfeeding and I know there are safe medications but it was another thing to worry about so I decided to focus on therapy 😅 I would say yes, it definitely worked for me. I had solo phone support (talking therapy), then group therapy with other mums (based on CBT), then 1-2-1 video calls with a therapist. My treatment lasted about 14 months, but I started feeling a lot better when my baby was around 10/11 months old - I kept seeing the therapist to solidify my improvements. I still meet up with the mums from my group therapy too 🥰
