Nursery hours

I need to finalise nursery hours for my little boy. I’m returning to work full time and have two options: 1 - term time only, pay 50% during the holiday to keep his place 2 - full time hours He is doing three days a week and he is with family for the other two days. I’m feeling guilty for wanting to have him in nursery during the school holidays so I have some time to myself - life admin, a day out with my husband etc. I probably wouldn’t have him in all three days each week of the holidays but it’s nice to have the option. What’s everyone’s experiences of this? Is having the option of nursery in the holidays worth it? (It would cost around £80 more a month) Thank you!

We pay term time only (2.5 days a week) and then had him in one day a week over the summer. It cost us the normal rate of £65 a day and was well worth it. He still gets to see the staff and other children and I got a day for me :)

We do 4 full days term time only and I’ve got to say if it’s only £80 extra a month I’d 100% do it. Especially come summer holidays. It’s a long 6 weeks otherwise 😅 It’s nice to keep the continuity and routine for them too. And a break for you. As you’ve said it’s only 3 days if that. Well worth it.

Our son goes all year round and I'm so glad. He loves going and I think it's good for the continuity. Being a mum is exhausting and so is being a teacher so it gives me time to rest as well and then be a better, more relaxed mum when I'm with him x

Thank you everyone for your replies. I definitely think it’ll be worth it for all of us and I feel happier knowing that it’s working for other families too x

@Jprc thisssssss. Way better of a mum when I’m not ‘on’ 24/7 and get some restbite.

If you can afford it, I would go for it! My little one’s nursery doesn’t offer term-time only so he goes in during the holidays and it gives me a chance to get caught up on things and have some me time 😊
