Baby fell off changing table

I should have moved her mat to the floor since she has been death rolling every nappy change since she learnt how to roll but today she fell off the table. I never leave her unattended and have my eyes on her always this time I had my hand on her legs and turned my head for a second to grab her wipes and she rolled so quick and fell off and landed on her back on the floor. Thankfully it’s carpet floor (not sure if it makes a difference or not) she cried for a few minutes but settled back quickly with some toys and cuddles. As far as I could see there’s no marks or bruises thank god and she’s showing no signs of abnormality or any concussion symptoms (thank god) she was back to her usual playful self in 10 minutes but the mum guilt is consuming me. I cried way longer than she did and feel awful. anyone else had this happen? My dads a doctor and he examined her and said there was nothing to worry about but I just feel so guilty

These things happen and it’s a story you’ll laugh about in 20 years time! I just change mine on a mat on the floor or my bed now and he fights me every step of the way

@Annie this is so reassuring. Thank you. Yes I’ve got her mat on the floor now and she won’t stop rolling every second 🥲

This happened to me a few weeks ago. I was in such a state but my LO was fine after a cry. We kept a close eye on her all day and it was just a mistake. It happens, we are busy mums and we need to give ourself some credit for what we do. Try not to let it get you know. Easier said than done I know! x

always keep your hand on their chest rather than legs so there's less chance of it happening. they wiggle too much just to hold their legs 😂
