Am I a bad mum?

I breastfeed my baby on demand. My baby is not fussy at all. The only time that he cries is when he wakes from a sleep and 5-10 minutes have passed and no one has gone near him. Mostly he will sleep through the night. Even if wakes up I will feed him and then he’ll go back to sleep (this is happening since week 6, he is now 10 weeks). In the beginning his sleep routine would be 8ish pm to 7am. But I wanted to get some work done in the morning and I managed to change his sleep routine and now he goes to sleep at around 11pm and wakes up around 9:30am, I nurse him and he goes back to sleep and wakes up at 12:00ish. Am I a bad mum? 🥺 I see everyone waking their children up around 7ish, I plan to do that once he is at least 9 months old. But I really want that morning time for my work as I manage to help my family financially and I don’t need to send him to childcare as well.

Of course not!! Your baby has no idea what time it is and it seems like they’re happy with the routine. You are doing what’s best for your family and that’s brilliant ❤️

Absolutely not a bad mum, you are being responsive and routines can change to suit your family and current needs. Each family has different needs and values so dont worry so much about what others are doing.

You’re not a bad mum! Baby sleep is wild and changes ALL the time! You may not be able to do this in a few more weeks/months so make the most of it now xx
